6/4/07 - San Antonio

My hopes and dreams for this Study Abroad experience are to gain the knowledge of a new culture and make this trip one to always remember. I want to see different places and experience something new and I think that Spain is the perfect place to start. I really want to come back from Spain knowing the language and the culture so that I will be able to share that with my family and friends. It's not every day that you are able to pick up and leave to another country so I am really grateful that I will be able to. Not only will I see different places and learn the culture but through this process i will grow personally because I will see and experience a whole new world.

It's hard to say what I expect Spain to be like. But I can already imagine what it would be like walking into El Museo de Jamon, I can see all the people waiting to put in their orders and talking amongst themselves. Also i imagine it to be cheap and really fun. I hear that once I go to Spain, I will never want to come back home. I have some big expectations only because I have never been to a place that has made me want to never come home. I love home and to feel like never coming back would shock me. That's where growing personally comes in. Maybe I will want to stay? If so, then that means being very far from my mother and father. It may be a possibility but that very thought scares me. What I am really excited about is trying the food. I have had some great feedback but then on the other hand I have heard that I wont like the food. I love to try new foods, and most of the time I love whatever I eat. I'm not at all picky and I'm just anxious to see the different foods that they mostly eat. I cant wait for this awesome trip to start and I am really excited about it!
